The HEID vision is to create the largest battery swapping station network by setting up more than 70 stations in Bengaluru by July 2023. Based on the success in Bengaluru city, the service will be expanded to other major cities in a phased manner, the company said.

Honda Power Pack Energy India Private Limited (HEID), a subsidiary of ​​Honda Motor Company announced earlier this year that it has partnered with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited for battery swap service. Both the companies have now commenced operations starting with Bengaluru as the pilot city.

Honda has created a new entity to enter the battery swap business in India. Interestingly, the government of India has also launched the first draft of India’s battery swap policy recently.
